Lake Agia is a picturesque wetland, nestled amidst lush green forests and rolling hills. The tranquil waters of the lake serve as a sanctuary for over 200 species of migratory and native birds. Swallows, martins, and a variety of birds including falcons, buzzards, kingfishers, and water birds can be easily spotted.

Hydropower Dreams: From Industry to Ecology

Xekolomeno, a subsidiary of the Public Power Corporation, created Lake Agia for hydropower which later turned into an ecologically significant wetland. Although the factory no longer operates, visitors can still view the old facilities. You can take a walk along the lakeside to discover remnants of the past, which include a nostalgic bridge, and the ancient Church of Panagia.
